Preparation for Apprenticeships,
Employment and Education
This course is for people who are currently unemployed and are not attending a college or training programme who are looking to secure a job in Construction.
The aim of the course is to prepare people for work in Construction and help them to overcome barriers they are experiencing to secure an Apprenticeship or employment, or enter in to education.
The first part of the course includes a ‘have a go’ session in Construction skills so that people can have a ‘taster’ to see if this is the career for them. The course also aims to introduce participants to the work they would need to complete on an Apprenticeship or while working in Construction. If required, participants will obtain a CSCS Card to access Construction sites for work experience.
The course is also to help people understand how to promote themselves to Senior Managers in the Construction Industry so that they can secure an Apprenticeship or employment. We will work with people to provide tailored support to meet their needs.
We will help participants look for work in the right places and think of news ways to find work. We will help secure opportunities so participants can move on to start a successful career in the Construction Industry.
